UV-Concepts, Inc. awarded Room Environment Infection Prevention Products category agreement with Premier

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado, November 12, 2020 – UV-Concepts, Inc., a leading provider of ultraviolet light disinfection solutions has been awarded a group purchasing agreement for Room Environment Infection Prevention Products with Premier. Effective October 15, 2020, the new agreement allows Premier members, at their discretion, to take advantage of special pricing and terms pre-negotiated by Premier for the UV-C Enclosure (UVE™), the first and only digitally-connected automated “no-touch” UV-C disinfection enclosure purpose-built for reusable medical equipment (RME).

Healthcare-associated infections are a growing concern worldwide especially in the wake of COVID-19, and evidence shows that high-touch surfaces on RME, such as wheelchairs, work stations on wheels, IV infusion pumps, and ventilators, are a potential vector of transmission of bacteria and viruses.

Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) is a disinfection method that uses short-wavelength ultraviolet light (UV-C) to kill or inactivate microorganisms. By surrounding RME in a fully enclosed, highly reflective space the size of a photo booth, the UVE™ delivers a very precise dose in 60 seconds into areas that would normally be challenging for conventional UV light systems over a much longer time period.

“At UV-Concepts, our mission is to collaborate with healthcare institutions that are seeking to elevate their approach to existing protocols and manual practices for the cleaning and disinfection of high-touch surfaces,” said Jason Ylizarde, Chief Commercial Officer & Co-Founder, UV-Concepts Inc. “We’re thrilled to establish this agreement to make the UVE™ more widely available to help protect patients, healthcare workers, and visitors from harmful bacteria and viruses.”

About UVE™

The UVE™ is an automated no-touch UV-C enclosure purpose-built for large portable and reusable medical equipment, and is digitally connected to real-time equipment indicator tags and a cloud-based platform to ensure protocol adherence. The UVE™ is designed to optimize the key principles of UV-C light disinfection effectiveness (intensity, proximity, and line of sight) by surrounding items inside of a fully enclosed, highly reflective space. This produces a high UV-C dose in 60 seconds for a controlled environment leading to consistent results. The UVE™ is registered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA, Product Registration No. 92890-DV-1).
